The Brazilian National Archives (Arquivo Nacional) have recently made public a comprehensive collection of documents detailing 893 reported UFO sightings across Brazil, spanning from 1952 to 2023.

This release includes a variety of materials such as photographs, audio recordings, drawings, and written reports, all organized chronologically by the date of each incident.

These documents are accessible through the National Archives’ digital platform, SIAN (Sistema de Informação do Arquivo Nacional)

Users can register on the platform to explore the collection, which is primarily in Portuguese.

The archive emphasizes that these reports have not been evaluated for authenticity or scientific validity; many could potentially have conventional explanations.

Notably, the release of these documents was advanced from the initially scheduled date of June 13, 2025, surprising many within the research community.

The extensive nature of the collection suggests that thorough analysis and evaluation will require significant time and effort.

This initiative reflects Brazil’s commitment to transparency regarding unidentified aerial phenomena and provides valuable resources for researchers and the public interested in the historical context of UFO sightings in the country.

They can be accessed here.

We will be reviewing these in detail over the coming weeks.
